History

BIEG was established in 1948, as a successor to a company founded in 1901, which was acquired by IG-Farben in 1933. It is now a family business with a staff of 60.

The roots of BIEG are in the Black Forest's traditional watch-making industry, as a supplier of sapphire and ruby jewels for time-pieces. The specialized manufacturing technologies and the high precision required for watchmaking now underpin the manufacture of modern products for medical technology and other industries which we supply to clients across the globe.
